health promotion
Through complementary and collaborative activities at the daycare center, children are encouraged to acquire the foundations for a healthy, natural lifestyle as early as possible through play, to learn health-conscious behavior by example, and to practice it. The goal is for children to manage their individual health resources responsibly over the long term.
Health promotion at our daycare center involves several aspects:
- Mental Well-Being
- A healthy, varied diet
- Exercise and Relaxation
- hygiene
- Regular time spent outdoors

Mental Well-Being
When children move freely, play together without a care in the world, explore the things around them with curiosity and wonder, strive to achieve something and tenaciously pursue their goals, and dare to try something new—even if they get a bump or two in the process—we get the well-founded impression that these children are healthy and have the opportunity to develop self-confidence.
A Healthy, Balanced Diet
We place a high priority on healthy nutrition for the children at our center. At our daycare, we prepare fresh, varied meals every day. The breakfast and snack options change daily and are designed to be diverse. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available to the children every day, and we encourage them to drink plenty of fluids. At our daycare center, we offer organic products and natural, low-sugar foods whenever possible. A balanced diet means more than just filling up. Nutrition plays a crucial role in our children’s emotional and mental development. It is an essential prerequisite for successful learning.

Exercise and Relaxation
Children’s health is closely linked to their ability to be active and play in environments that are rich in experiences and adaptable. For us, promoting physical activity therefore means giving children ample opportunity to test their limits and encouraging them to explore new, unfamiliar paths. In addition, we hold a gymnastics class once a week and actively promote physical activity.
We consider time for relaxation just as important for recharging our batteries and finding peace.
Hygiene
In addition to regularly washing hands, combing hair, blowing one's nose, and other activities, the children brush their teeth after lunch.
Four times a year, a “toothbrushing workshop” is held in collaboration with the LAG (State Working Group for the Prevention of Dental Diseases).

Regular time spent outdoors
Spending time outdoors regularly, in almost any weather, strengthens the immune system. Children are provided with a wide range of experiences in nature that support healthy and physically positive development.
